Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited has announced recruitment notification from eligible candidates for the numerous post of Assistant Teacher .

Name of the Post: Assistant Teacher

Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and more than 27 years as on 01-01-2016

Educational Qualification: Graduate in Art/ Science/ Commerce with B.Ed Degree University/Institute recognized by government of Meghalaya.

Pay Scale: Rs. 14585-28645/-

Examination Fee: Rs.230/-

  • Candidates can submit the fee in the form of Bank Draft in favour of the Principal Account, MeECL, Shillong Payable at Shillong.

About Meghalaya Energy Corporation (MEECL)

Meghalaya with its tall mountains, deep valleys and ample rains has a large, idle hydroelectric potential. The measured generation volume exceeds 3000 MW. The existing installed size in the state is 185 MW, then the state itself consumes around 610 MW. In other words, it imports power. The economic growth of the state proposes rising request for electricity. The state has the possible to transfer net hydroelectric-generated electricity and receive income for its internal expansion plans. The state also has big deposits of coal, thus existence of a nominee for thermal power plants.

Several plans are under works. The projected Garo Hills thermal project at Nangalbibra is predictable to create an extra 751 MW of power. There is a suggestion for set up a 250 MW thermal power plant in West Khasi Hills. The State Govt. aims to increase its power generation production by around 2000-2500 MW, of which 700-980 MW will be thermal established while 1400-1520 MW will be hydroelectricity. The State Govt. has drew a cost-shared public-private company model to fast-track private sector reserves in its power sector. The generation diffusion, conversion and circulation of electricity is trusted to the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited which was established under the Electricity Supply Act, 1948. Currently there are 5 hydel power locations and one mini hydel.
