Office of the Chief Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway, Kolkata is inviting for recruitment from suitable and eligible candidates, who full fill all the criteria for the post of  10 Group C & Group D Against Scout & Guide Quota.

Post Name:

  • Group D (Erstwhile) : 08 Posts
  • Group C : 02 Posts

Age Limit as on 01-01-2017: 

  • Group C : Between 18 to 29 years
  • Group D : Between 18 to 32 years

Required Educational Qualification :

  • Group C : Candidates should have passed 12th or its equivalent examination with 50% marks in aggregate with Scout & guide qualification.
  • Group D : Candidates should have passed10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT with Scout & guide qualification.

Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200/- + GP : 1900-RS

Examination Fee: General/OBC have to pay Rs. 500/- for SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PWD, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes & Rs. 250/- through Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of FA&CAO,Eastern Railway, Kolkata payable at Kolkata.

About Eastern Railway:

Eastern Railway was incorporated on 14 April 1952 by the integration of East Indian railway. They comprise of areas Howrah, Sealdah, Bengal-Nagpur railway, Asansol and Danapur. The area has been extended from Howrah to Vishakhapatnam, Nagpur and Katni that resided at the North Central Region. When the redistribution and reconstruction took place for new lines, Easter Railways got extended over 4245.61 kilometer area on 30 Sep 2002.

On 1 Oct 2002 three divisions like Dhanbad, Danapur and Mughalsarai were made separated from Eastern region to create new costal lines with the Head Quarter residing at Hajipur. Various transportation are carried out with the help of Eastern railways services this include transportation of Iron, steel, cement, petroleum and products from Durgapur to Burnpur. Merchandised include jute, tea, textiles and agriculture products to multiple areas. They carry out three workshops in areas of Jamalpur, Liluah and Kanchrapara to meet customer requirement.

To serve long distance passage traffic, introduction has been made towards fast long distance mail/express trains. For the first time Rajdhani Express took over from Howrah to New Delhi on northern and eastern railways in the year 1969. Later introduction to Duranto Express trains has been made to serve same purposes on other regions too. Eastern railways have included the Diesel Multiple service for required passengers that are situated at areas which cannot be electrified. Mainline Electrical Units has been introducing to passengers residing at sub urban areas. They are involved with prestigious railway museum at Howrah spread over 4 acres. This was augmented on 7th April 2006, became attractive designation of tourist visit.
